Cafe Hanum, Sinbuldang

After lunch at Yukjeon Gukbap, we moved over to Sinbuldang.
Craving something cold after the meal, we ended up at Cafe Hanum, Sinbuldang.
The peach thread bingsu caught my eye first, with delicate ribbons of peach arranged so beautifully, but once I settled in, what stayed with me just as much was the bright, airy space and the paintings hanging on the walls.
More than a quick stop for dessert, it felt like one of those places where you can slow down, take a breath, and really look around— a Cheonan cafeworth lingering in.

We stopped by Cafe Hanum, Sinbuldang after lunch.
The interior leaned heavily into white, softened by plants and gently colored furniture, so the whole space felt open instead of cramped.
Finding this much breathing room right in the middle of Sinbuldang was another reason this Cheonan cafestood out to me.

We wandered in after our meal, and the greenery outside flowing into the bright interior made the whole afternoon feel like it slowed down a little.
The peach thread bingsu that instantly grabbed my attention
The menu item I was most excited for that day was, without question, the peach thread bingsu.
When it arrived at the table, thin peach-colored strands were layered into a rounded mound, topped with a scoop of ice cream.
It looked completely different from a typical bowl of shaved ice, so it was the kind of dessert you enjoy with your eyes before the first bite.
The cafe describes it as a carefully handmade dessert,made with the same care as if it were being served to their own family.
The moment I dipped in my spoon, the fine strands loosened softly, and the sweet peach flavor blended beautifully with the cold dessert.
I could see why the peach thread bingsu is one of the cafe’s signature seasonal menu items.
More than anything, after a full meal, this kind of light, refreshing dessert was exactly what worked best for sharing.

The peach threads melted away softly, and with every shared bite, the afternoon felt a little sweeter.
The peach-colored strands melted delicately, and my child’s smile spread even faster than the dessert disappeared.
Paintings tucked between dessert and coffee
The cafe was also displaying works by artist Jeon Mi-seon,a Western-style painter with multiple awards to her name.
Some pieces used bold contrasts of blue and orange, while others focused on flowers and nature, and each one carried a slightly different mood.
Rather than feeling like a few decorative paintings casually hung in a cafe, it felt like the space had been intentionally arranged so people could pause and really take them in.
A quiet moment spent looking at a painting between sips of coffee and bites of dessert.
That was part of what made this Cheonan cafestay in my memory a little differently.
Between each sweet bite, there was also the calm, lingering aftertaste of the artwork.
We took a short break in the spacious interior
With long seating along the wall, cushioned chairs, and spots spaced far enough apart for a little privacy, it felt easy to choose a seat that matched your mood.
There was also a terrace outside, and I remember thinking it would be such a nice place to sit once the weather turns cooler.
As I walked around taking photos, I noticed how naturally the plants and artwork blended into the cafe, which made the space itself fun to explore slowly.
I came for the peach thread bingsu and unexpectedly found a small art exhibit too.

The generous space made it easy to catch my breath, even in the middle of a busy day.
After looking at the paintings, I turned a few more pages of my book and let the feeling of the artwork linger a little longer.
Things I hadn’t said yet, and the small check-ins I wanted to share, seemed to settle onto the page.
Time felt like it was quietly collecting here, one person and one moment at a time.

At first, I thought one bowl of bingsu would be enough.

Looking back, time with family
may be less about big plans
and more about placing a small pause in each other’s day like this.
